General description of the post
The holder of this post is expected to carry out the professional duties of a pre-threshold teacher as described below, as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school’s policies under the direction of the head teacher. The Post holder is required to actively support the vision, ethos and policies of the school.
All post holders are expected to meet all the professional standards for teachers and should be able to provide evidence to support this. However, from the second year of teaching onwards it is expected that the focus will be on the following standards.
St John and St James is a friendly, vibrant primary school for children aged 3 – 11. We have a strong ethos
of inclusion, encouraging all our children to be confident and caring of themselves and those around them.
The successful candidate will also be keen to work with other staff members to provide an inclusive learning
environment, ensuring that the needs of all children are met.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the skills to
– Accelerate pupils’ progress across the curriculum, including their social skills
– Support pupils’ learning and to share in their care and well being
– Contribute to teachers’ planning and be involved in the development and delivery of the curriculum,
so that all pupils make accelerated progress.
PURPOSE OF THE POST:
Our school Governing Body is made up of Governors from all walks of life and many come to us through a variety of routes and with a range of different backgrounds, skills and experiences, but they are all volunteers who work together for the benefit of the School and are the link between the School and the community it serves. What is the Governing Body’s Role?
To help support governors, everyone has access to further training to help build on existing skills or to develop new ones.
